Previously run under the banner of Westbury Stud, Watson Bloodstock represents an investment in premium quality international bloodstock located in both New Zealand and Australia. Predominantly a breeding business, Watson Bloodstock owns an elite broodmare band which includes Group One winning mares Zirna and Grand Archway. Watson Bloodstock also holds large shareholdings in the stallions Captain Rio, Faltaat and Pyrus. Watson Bloodstock each year spends a considerable amount of time researching yearling market trends and mapping that against those stallions standing within Australasia. Particular care is taken in matching the bloodlines of the broodmares to each stallion. With individual results of $500,000 upwards, Watson Bloodstock has continued to enjoy success in the yearling sales ring with their drafts well received both in New Zealand and Australia.
